Temuera Morrison MNZM, born on 26 December 1960, is a New Zealand actor who initially became well-known in his native New Zealand for playing Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street. His critically acclaimed performances include Jake The Muss Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994) and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?.
